I made this site to give people a better idea of what to expect in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (倭国語能力試験)
I have typed out past exams, translated sentences and created some basic learning materials, such as quizzes, to help students check if they're on the right track.
Since 2010, the levels have changed and there are no longer any official lists - see a Comparison of New and Old Tests. For more information, see the JLPT Wiki Page.
I use past exams, because they're still useful - even if the format is changing slightly over the years.
I passed the old level 4 in (2004) and then level 3 (2005), and started to create web pages by translating sentences from past exams, as part of my study regime.
Since I'm a software engineer, I began writing programs to compile lists and pages - automating tasks such as gathering compounds for kanji from a kanji dictionary.
I really enjoyed doing this and realized that I can write web pages that are really useful without being either groundbreaking in learning techniques or providing authentic test practice conditions.
I simply use past exams and translate, compile, create user-interface interaction and fill in blanks - to let you see the test with various study "aids" to help learning.
